Confucius once said: “I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.”. At Rising Star Academy, we are devoted to teaching our children through active learning. Everything they learn is their own doing. This creates an intentional learning environment where the child feels in complete control. And because we respect each child’s strengths and weaknesses and truly adapt our teaching to the children in front of us, we are able to create a unique learning experience for all the children.

Rising Star Academy uses the latest Frog Street® – a TEA approved and used by more than 316 school districts in Texas, notably by Katy ISD, high-quality, systematic, research-based preschool curriculum – that is critical to prepare preschool children for future success in elementary school. Frog Street is a comprehensive, year-long curriculum which provides explicit instruction in early language, reading, and math skills. Enriched by the theory of Multiple Intelligence from Howard Gardner, our curriculum ensures that our teachers are equipped to guide all children, by respecting their strengths and differences. At Rising Star Academy, we combine child-centered exploration with teacher-directed instruction.

INFANTS

Designed around the latest scientific early brain development research, Frog Street Infant is designed to build strong foundations for little ones ages 0-18 months. This child-centered program equips our teachers to nurture the little ones in our care. It optimizes key windows of opportunity for growth and development and is designed with intention and purpose and organized around developmental learning domains. It features Dr. Becky Bailey’s Conscious Discipline® strategies to enhance social and emotional development.

TODDLERS

Designed around the latest scientific early brain development research, this year-round program focuses on enhancing the simple joy of childhood while equipping our teachers to nurture curiosity through exploration. Created by Dr. Pam Schiller, it incorporates Dr. Becky Bailey’s Conscious Discipline® and includes activities and themes specifically created for children ages 18-36 months.

THREES

It provides intentional instruction in key areas of development for children ages 36-48 months to effectively continue on the path to kindergarten readiness.  It enhances literacy development by offering a formal introduction to the alphabet. It also creates a “social bridge” as three-year-olds begin to join in play with others; and it lays the cornerstones for understanding foundational math concepts. Social and emotional emphasis featuring Dr. Becky Bailey’s Conscious Discipline®.

EXCEL PREK

This new curriculum sets children on a path to success through engaging read-aloud, math and science explorations, playful music and movement, and hands-on learning centers. It features a strong social-emotional component that builds caring school families and develops compassionate, happy learners using Dr. Becky Bailey’s Conscious Discipline®. It is also built around the theory of Multiple Intelligence® by Howard Gardner, ensuring that all children receive the information in a way that fits their needs.

SPANISH and FRENCH for every child

At Rising Star Academy Katy, we believe that exposing children to other cultures and languages is our duty. We decided to add a structured portion of Spanish and French for all the children in our care. 

Our philosophy of teaching Spanish and French is simple: children are naturally curious and love to have fun! Make a program that’s playful and interactive, and kids can’t help learning! Live action, animation, and lively music make our language programs as entertaining as they are educational. Of course, to ensure high quality, only native speakers will teach the target language to our little ones.
